Our Commitment

 

Wild Roots Renewal CIC is committed to creating a safe, respectful and supportive environment for all participants, volunteers and staff.

Our programmes are designed to support people who may be physically or emotionally vulnerable. Safeguarding is therefore central to everything we do.

Who This Applies To:

This safeguarding approach applies to:

  • adults participating in our programmes

  • individuals affected by cancer, chronic illness or burnout

  • volunteers, facilitators and staff

  • any partners working alongside Wild Roots

Our Approach

We are committed to:

  • treating all individuals with dignity and respect

  • creating inclusive and non-judgemental environments

  • recognising and responding to signs of vulnerability or distress

  • ensuring participants feel safe to express concerns

  • maintaining appropriate boundaries at all times

Safe Programme Delivery

We support safeguarding through:

  • small group sizes

  • experienced and qualified outdoor leadership

  • trauma-aware and participant-led approaches

  • clear communication before and during programmes

  • risk assessments for all activities

Reporting Concerns

If a safeguarding concern arises, we will:

  • take all concerns seriously

  • respond promptly and appropriately

  • involve relevant services where necessary

  • prioritise the safety and wellbeing of the individual

​

Participants are encouraged to raise any concerns at any time.

 

 

Ongoing Commitment

Wild Roots Renewal CIC will continue to develop its safeguarding practices as the organisation grows, including training, policies and partnerships.
